What’s HOT
Captain obvious here… but it’s HOT outside.
The Western Corn Belt is in full-blown roast mode with triple-digit highs reaching temperatures 20 to 30 degrees above normal and heat indices adding 15 to 20 degrees to make matters worse.
Over the next few days, the heat moves east with most growing regions returning to normal or slightly below normal highs by the weekend.
The daily highs always steal the spotlight but the incredibly high overnight lows of the next few days are worth noting:
Meanwhile… you could have sliced the air with a butterknife at my house this morning:
Sure, the high temperatures are rough but it’s the temps plus the humidity that makes the heat index rise skyrocket.
