I hadn’t either until recently. Now that I have heard it - it seems as if I cannot escape it.
Yesterday, Pepsi and Walmart announced a 7-year collaboration with $120 million worth of investments focused on supporting U.S. and Canadian farmers in the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices.
Company statements indicate the efforts are expected to improve soil health and water quality on more than 2 million acres of farmland, delivering an estimated 4 million metric tons in greenhouse gas emission reductions by 2030.
In the last two weeks, ADM, Nestle, Cargill, John Deere, Consolidated Grain and Barge and others have made similar announcements as carbon initiatives take the world by storm in pursuit of net zero in the coming years.
