We are two weeks away from July and the unofficial start of Brazil’s corn exporting season.
While U.S. shipments historically dominate the first half of the calendar year, Brazil drives the bus (or in this case boat) the last half of the year as Safrinha harvest occurs in the summer months.
With the harvest of their record crop (130mmt crop) underway, we should see monthly shipment records begin to fall soon.

Speaking of falling…
Brazil continues to grapple with the aftermath of a bin-busting record soybean crop all while scrambling to make room for a record-setting corn crop in the coming weeks.
We all have seen it a million times - the infamous last-minute puke before the combines start to roll. You have to clear out the old before filling bins with new and in the case of Brazil, you have to purge beans to make space for second crop corn.
