#1 | One Big Escalation

There is never a dull moment and the past few days have been no exception.

At the beginning of the week the Black Sea grain corridor expired for second… or third time… I have honestly lost track.

Most of us assumed Russia would again agree to extend it at the last minute, but that was not the case this time around.

Early Monday, Russia instead launched a series of attacks on Ukrainian port infrastructure that are now in their third day.

Russia claims this is retaliation for weekend Ukrainian drone strikes on the Kerch bridge.

Infrastructure at Odesa and Chornomorsk appear to be the hardest-hit; uncoincidentally the two most important ports for Ukrainian grain shipments.
