The market got a surprise on corn today as USDA increased yield nearly 2 bushels per acre to 174.9 - substantially higher than the average pre-report estimate of 173.2.
The largest month-on-month (percentage) increases were in the Dakotas, Missouri and Wisconsin.
Seven states have record-high yields in 2023 - all in the eastern half of the US.
