While 2022’s US corn yield of 173.3 bpa was not a record itself, we still saw a few state records including Minnesota at a 195bpa and Illinois who beat its own previous national record of 210 bpa (2018) finishing 2022 at a new record of 214 bpa.
Given Illinois’ bin-buster state yield it is not a surprise it is home to 9 of the top 10-yielding counties in 2022.
Crazier yet - Illinois is home to 16 of the top 20 counties, joined by Delaware and Clinton counties in Iowa, Grant County, Kansas and Phelps County, Nebraska as the top-yielders in 2022.
